Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Reel Commerce Limited (“Reel Commerce”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when people use Reel Commerce websites and services, including Reel Cinema and its Facebook integration.

Information we collect

Depending on the services you use, we may collect:

• account information, such as your name, email address, user identifier and cinema or business;
• cinema, customer and operational information entered into Reel Commerce services;
• technical information needed to operate and secure our services, including logs, timestamps, errors and device or browser information;
• communications and support requests you send to us; and
• payment and transaction information where a Reel Commerce service provides payment or commerce functions.

Facebook Platform Data

When an authorised cinema user connects a Facebook Page to Reel Cinema, Meta provides information and credentials needed to establish and operate that connection. We may receive and store:

• the Facebook Page ID and Page name;
• the Page permissions and tasks granted by the authorised user;
• encrypted user and Page access tokens;
• the Reel Cinema user and cinema associated with the connection;
• connection, verification and error status; and
• content prepared for publication, media references, scheduled publication times and Facebook post IDs.

Reel Cinema uses this information only to show Pages available to the authorised user, connect the Page selected for that cinema, verify the connection, and create or schedule posts requested or approved through Reel Cinema. We do not sell Facebook Platform Data.

How we use information

We use information to:

• provide, maintain and improve Reel Commerce services;
• authenticate users and protect accounts and services;
• perform actions requested or authorised by users, including publishing Facebook Page content;
• process transactions and provide customer support;
• diagnose faults, monitor performance and prevent misuse; and
• meet legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.

When we disclose information

We disclose information to Meta when required to authenticate a Facebook connection and publish content requested through Reel Cinema. We may also disclose information to service providers that host or support our systems, acting under our instructions, and where required by law or necessary to protect users, Reel Commerce or the public. We do not sell personal information.

Storage, retention and security

Information may be processed in New Zealand and in other countries where our service providers operate. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold. Facebook access tokens are encrypted when stored.

We retain information while it is needed to provide the service, maintain security and operational records, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and why it is held. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it where reasonably practicable.

Facebook connection and data deletion

An authorised cinema user can disconnect Facebook in Reel Cinema by opening Marketing → Social Media → Facebook and selecting Disconnect. Disconnecting disables the active connection and removes its active Page access token from the connection record.

To request deletion of Facebook Platform Data and related authorisation records held by Reel Commerce, email help@reelcommerce.co with the cinema name and connected Facebook Page name. We may ask you to verify that you are authorised to act for the cinema. We will delete the relevant information unless we must retain particular records for legal, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or request its deletion where applicable. You may also withdraw a Facebook Page connection at any time. Contact us using the address below. You may raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in New Zealand if you believe your privacy rights have been breached.

Children

Reel Cinema and its Facebook integration are business services and are not directed to children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services or privacy practices change. The current version and its last-updated date will remain available on this page.
